Experience firsthand the electric atmosphere and rich history that makes New Orleans one of the most fascinating cities in the world! Included in the price of your convention fee, is the New Orleans Rebirth City Tour. Due to the size of the convention, this tour will be offered over multiple days during the Big Easy Bash. Simply pick your day and time that you would like to take the tour and sign up with New Orleans Paddlewheels (www.nop-rhs.com). Here is a description of the tour:
  • Your exploration of the many sensory extravagances that endure in the unique city of New Orleans begins here - enjoy the journey!
  • See New Orleans past, present, and more importantly, the promising future of the Crescent City after Hurricane Katrina. A narration by your tour guide provides interesting and fascinating facts about Hurricane Katrina and the levee failure... as well as stories of the spirited and strong natives of New Orleans, committed to the rebuilding of a city left in ruins.
  • Discover the birthplace of Jazz and see the infamous Bourbon Street, where anything can and usually does happen... see the historic French Quarter, the home of Mardi Gras, one of the world's largest and most outrageous festivals. See the first American neighborhood, the Garden District, famed St. Charles Avenue, and so much more... historical neighborhoods, many of our universities, and the grand oaks at City Park.
  • Stop at a mystical and historical above-ground cemetery... we call them Cities of the Dead.
  • Travel in complete comfort in climate-controlled motorcoaches. Each motorcoach is equipped with bathroom and is handicap accessible.

The Hat District features exhibitors and vendors selling wares ranging from apparel and accessories, to hats and jewelry...to tour and travel agencies. It's time to take our love of shopping to a whole new Red Hat level! 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM Mardi Gras World & Mini Parade (Extra Day attendees only)
Your time at Mardi Gras World will be unforgettable! You'll be picked up at the hotel by a fleet of buses and whisked away to an evening of sparkle and splendor at Mardi Gras World. Enter into the spirit of Mardi Gras as you explore the famous floats and costumes of the parade, enjoy the fabulous entertainment, and a delicious buffet filled with traditional New Orleans food, like catfish, gumbo, jambalaya, and Cajun chicken. Then, get ready to move to the music in the Mardi Gras World Mini-Parade, complete with floats, beads, and a marching band! This magnificent evening is sure to be a highlight of The Big Easy Bash, and it's only available with the Extra Day Convention Package!
