Actor and comedian Damon Wayans has just released a novel called Red Hats. It's the story of Alma, a lonely woman with a difficult life, who encounters a group of Red Hatters who help her open up to all that life has to offer, saving her life in more ways than one. In the closing pages of the book, Damon writes,

"Sue Ellen Cooper and the Red Hats, I salute you for being such a wonderful worldwide sisterhood. You have brought much joy to many lives. I've witnessed it firsthand, through my mother."
