Arrive to the Fairfield Inn & Suites 

Hotel Check In 3:00PM

Ladies arrive to the Fairfield Inn & Suites by the hotel’s complimentary shuttle. 

To order the shuttle, once you have collected your bags from the baggage carousel go outside and walk across the street to the center island.  Look for a “RED” sign that says, “Hotel Courtesy Shuttle”, call (424) 290-5000 and ask for a shuttle to pick you up.  This is an on-call shuttle and with traffic it could take up to 30 minutes to be picked up.

Dinner Fiesta

6:00PM – 9:00PM 

Join Royal Splendor’s Nancy and David, CEO Queen Lady Bug Debra Granich and your Sisters for this fiesta buffet in a private dining room at the hotel.   Enjoy chicken and carnitas with flour tortillas, choice of refried or black beans, chips and salsa bar with all the trimmings.  Enjoy hot tea, water, a coffee station and a dessert table!

Tonight, our host Royal Splendor Travel, will distribute name badges and travel bags to all in attendance.  All must be prepared to show their passport to the Royal Splendor Travel team.

Rise & Shine Breakfast

6:00AM – 7:45AM

Join your Sisters in the hotel lobby for a buffet breakfast offering scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, whole fruit, cut fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, white and rye bread, breakfast pastries, cold cereal, tea, coffee, apple and orange juice.  

Not interested in joining for breakfast?  Need a bit of extra rest?  Feel free to meet the group at 8:15am for tour departure.

Meet in the lobby promptly at 8:15am; we will be departing at 8:30am.  (Times are subject to change.)

Do you have your roommate???
If the Hatter misses the pickup time she may stay at the hotel and have a free day or she may contact Royal Splendor Travel guide, Nancy Neville, to coordinate a meet-up if possible during one of their stops. 

What to wear / bring on the tour?
  • We recommend a light weight jacket as it can get windy at the beach.
  • Comfortable clothes, easy to walk in.
  • Closed shoes are required as Royal Splendor Travel is not responsible for any or all incidents. 
  • Travel purse – bring only what you need!  Keep valuables at home or in the hotel safe.
  • Credit card, cash, government ID, medical card, prescriptions, sunglasses, etc…

Water and light snacks (granola bars) will be provided on the tours.

Full Day Tour:  “LA City Tour”

8:30AM –  4:00PM

We’ll begin our tour in Venice Beach, Los Angeles where you'll see Muscle Beach, the skate parks where skateboarding was founded and some interesting characters.  Next, we’ll cruise by Santa Monica's world-famous pier and make our way to our stop on Rodeo Drive where you can window shop with the rich and famous!   

Lunch: We’ll stop for lunch at a true Los Angeles icon: The Farmers Market at the Grove. (Lunch is on your own)

After lunch we’ll board our bus and make our way to Griffith Park where you can take photos of the Hollywood Sign and visit the Observatory.  

PLEASE NOTE: Park is sometimes closed for filming; as an alternative the tour may go to Mulholland Drive and/or The Hollywood Bowl.

Next, we’ll make our way to Hollywood Boulevard to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

Cruise down the Sunset Strip to see the iconic music and comedy venues (Viper Room, Whiskey A Go-Go, Roxy, Laugh Factory and Comedy Store).

It’s a day filled with all the glitz and glamour only Los Angeles can provide.  We hope to hit as many famous landmarks as possible!  

Dinner On Your Own OR Come Along With The Royal Splendor Travel Team

Get refreshed, take a little nap, re-organize your suitcase and those who are interested in dinner meet the Royal Splendor Team at 6:00pm in the lobby.  (Dinner on your own).  We will venture across the street for a wide variety of restaurants to choose from.

Rise & Shine Breakfast

6:30AM – 7:45AM

Join your Sisters in the hotel lobby for a buffet breakfast offering scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, whole fruit, cut fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, white and rye bread, breakfast pastries, cold cereal, tea, coffee, water and orange juice.  

After breakfast, bring your suitcases down to the lobby.  Have your Princess luggage tags out to place on all the bags you want to check in at the pier.  

**Baggage limit – One carry-on plus your purse and one suitcase.  Each additional suitcase will be $10.00 per bag due to limited space on the bus.

Not interested in joining for breakfast?  Need a bit of extra rest?  Feel free to meet the group at 8:15am for tour departure with suitcases, etc.  

Tour Departure

The Hatter who misses the bus departure will be responsible for hiring a taxi or Uber to transport themselves to the Los Angeles World Cruise Center.

Off The Beaten Path Tour

8:30AM – 1:00PM 

Drive up Miracle Mile and stop at the La Brea Tar Pits.  Then, it’s on to downtown LA for a historical education of the Victorian Homes area.  What trip to Los Angeles would be complete without a stop at Olvera Street?!  Time permitting, we’ll stop in Chinatown or Little Tokyo. 

Once we’ve satisfied our official sport of shopping, we’ll head over to Grand Park, a cool cultural and artistic park that not many people know about.

We will then travel to the Los Angeles World Cruise Center and arrive by 1:30pm.  Our cruise will leave the port promptly at 4:00pm.  Be sure to have your passport in hand.  

Embarkation For Cruise Registrants

For those who chose the main cruise package only, your call time is 1:00pm at the Los Angeles World Cruise Center.  All information related can be found by clicking here.  Be sure to have your passport in hand.

On The San Diego Tour, our guests will discover the most renowned and loveliest parts of our city with us. These places include Coronado Island, The Hotel Del Coronado, The Historic Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, The Embarcadero, and beautiful Balboa Park and El Prado too. 

Hoot!

12:00PM - 1:30pm

We’ll stop at the Public Market in Liberty Station to shop, eat and meet local Hatters for a Hoot!  

RHS is inviting all local Hatters to join us in San Diego for a Hoot!  We’ll take over the city of San Diego and have our Sisters join in the fun for the day.   

Unable to attend the cruise but want to attend the Hoot? We invite you to join us! Look for more information regarding the Hoot in an upcoming Friday Broadcast.

Lunch is on your own.

Old Town Tour and Shopping Break

1:30PM

The Old Town Historical portion of this tour provides the perfect opportunity to explore where San Diego started. Known as the birthplace of San Diego and all of California, Old Town is a cultural hotspot. With stunning views of Mission Bay from the top of Presidio Park, to the smells of fresh-cooking Mexican cuisine and the beautiful Spanish architecture below, the Old Town abounds with the vibe and flair for which Spanish and Mexican cultures are known. On this tour you will see Presidio Park, Sera Museum, the Padre Cross, Bazaar del Mundo, Old Town State Historic Park, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Whaley House, Victorian Mansions, Heritage Park, Spanish and Mediterranean renaissance architecture, contemporary architecture, historic homes, and more!

Note: Please wear comfortable walking shoes as there are some uneven surfaces.  There may be some inclines and two to three steps at each venue.

A Day At Sea

Today’s day at sea will give us plenty of opportunities to mix and mingle, all while enjoying the wonderful amenities provided by the Princess Ruby. To ensure RHS cruise-goers have all the latest ways to play, Royal Splendor Travel will create a newsletter every other day during the cruise experience and deliver it to you at dinner. Chocolate Fantasy PJ Breakfast

7:30AM - 9:00AM

It’s time to indulge and live a little on the high seas!  Dress in your RHS PJ best and join us for a breakfast complete with chocolate of all types!  Don’t want breakfast but would rather truly indulge in the sweet treats?  That’s perfectly fine!  It’s your party and we’re here to please!

Craft Time!  Hat Making!  

10:00AM -  12:00PM

Join your Sisters for this fun hat making class.  Royal Splendor will provide the hats with a small amount of decorations.  Each Hatter participating is asked to bring (1) glue gun/sticks, (1) extension cord, scissors per cabin and decorations to share.  

Afternoon Tea

3:15PM - 4:45PM

Join your Sisters for a white-gloved, afternoon tea with other cruise passengers.  RHS will be provided our own section to accommodate us.  Be sure to arrive at 3:15pm to ensure you are included in the RHS section.  

Red Hat Society Royal Ball

7:00PM - 10:00PM

Put on your Red Hat finest and join your Sisters for a Red Hat Society Ball. The Captain of the Princess Ruby will greet us with free champagne.  Want to have your picture made with the Captain or the Maitre d’?  This is the perfect opportunity!  We’ll dine and dance the night away!

Cabo San Lucas Tour (Optional)

A tender is a small boat (often a life boat) that is used to take passengers ashore when there is not a location deep enough on the pier for the ship to pull into. Please note it can be difficult for passengers with mobility issues to get in and out of a tender

Experience the beauty and cultural richness of Baja on a half-day excursion that features scenic cultural and historic sights.  Board your transportation for a picturesque drive through the Baja California desert terrain.

Your first stop is a local glass factory.  Watch the artisans at work, learn their time-honored techniques and purchase their colorful creations at the gift shop.

Continue your tour in the authentic Mexican town of San Jose del Cabo.  Stroll independently along the charming, tree lined streets and enjoy the colorful murals and the historic town plaza. You will then travel to Plaza Artesanos, home to over 75 vendors selling authentic Mexican jewelry, clothing, tote bags, rugs and ceramics.  This is one-stop shopping for guest looking for high-quality, yet affordable souvenirs in a comfortable atmosphere.  Then, stop at one of the area’s most renowned restaurants for a complimentary beverage while you take in sweeping panoramic views of the Bay of Cabo San Lucas and the famous El Arco in the distance.  

Upon return to port, you will be dropped off in Cabo San Lucas for independent sightseeing and shipping.

Enjoy the ever-changing panorama as you drive through the desert landscape from the port of Pichilingue into the colorful waterfront promenade of La Paz.  After a scenic ride along the bay you’ll head downtown for a tour of the shops, boulevards and beautiful mile-long waterfront promenade.  Next, you will visit the Museum of Anthropology and History to see exhibits ranging from the history of The Sea of Cortez pearls to the history of Baja California.  Continue to explore with your guide at the lovely Cathedral of La Paz.  Built in 1861 atop the ruins of a 140 year-old Jesuit mission, the Cathedral’s interior boasts beautiful stained glass windows and a sculpture of the Virgin Mary with infant child.  In addition to the many sights you’ll see, you’ll also have time to stop and shop for authentic Mexican handicrafts.  Your next stop is a pottery factory where you can browse for handmade decorative items, glazed tiles and tableware.  Next is a weaver’s shop where you can purchase placemats, hats, bag and blankets.  You will find a diverse collection of pottery, folk art, paintings, sculptures, and more.  Included is a guided walking tour of the Downtown area.  When your excursion comes to an end, you can return to port aboard your transportation or continue to sightsee and take a later shuttle.

Treat yourself to a Mexican buffet lunch featuring an authentic Loreto clambake.  Your private transport will take you from the pier to a quaint venue filled with music, colorful dancers and the party’s best friend - a piñata!  A clambake is an authentic Mexican traditional seafood ofLoreto. To harvest the “chocolate” brown-shelled clams, divers swim about 500 yards off shore and then dive 10-15 feet.  An inner tube with a basket serves to keep the harvested clams in the water as they are collected, ensuring that you are sampling the freshest the sea has to offer. Enjoy these delicacies while the Ballet Folklorico entertains you with their joyful traditional dances. While there, local artisans will be creating and displaying their art for you to enjoy. Each guest will leave with a complimentary souvenir so you can remember this fantastic day. 

Special Notes: The lunch venue is outside and buffet style (line up and self service). Lunch includes one Margarita and one non-alcoholic beverage. Bring spending cash and a camera.

Red Hat Jewelry Making Class

10:30AM - 12:00PM

Join Royal Splendor Travel’s Nancy Neville for a Red Hat jewelry making class.  Share a few giggles with your Sisters and enjoy the comradery only found in being a part of the RHS.  Participants must be present at this event to receive the supplies necessary to create the jewelry.

Afternoon Tea

3:30PM -  4:45PM

The Princess Ruby, like our mascot Ruby RedHat, loves to host tea parties!  We hope you’ll join us for this afternoon tea time to mix and mingle with Sisters and new friends on board. Dress: RHS Regalia.

Formal Dinner and Parade

7:00PM - 9:30PM

This formal dinner will give us a true opportunity to strut our stuff for our adoring fans.  We will parade from the bow to the stern, stopping along our procession to take pictures with cruise guests and handing out our trading cards.

Puerto Vallarta Tour (Optional)

Celebrate the sights of Puerto Vallarta on this leisurely half-day drive about town.  Have your camera at the ready as you pass such iconic sights as the historic central plaza, the Sea Horse statue, the impressive City Hall and the beautiful Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  From a distance, see glamorous Gringo Gulch, the Beverly Hills of Puerto Vallarta, where Richard Burton bought Elizabeth Taylor a home.  Continue on for breathtaking ocean views of Olas Altas and an opportunity to take pictures of the beautiful bay of Puerto Vallarta.  Also view the newly renovated Malecon, a dramatic boardwalk that hugs Banderas Bay and is studded with artistic sculptures, before heading back into town for a refreshing cold drink at a local restaurant followed by a brief ride to the downtown district for shopping.  Look through your pictures as you enjoy the relaxing ride back to the pier.

Red Hat Society Birthday Bash

It’s finally here!  Tonight we’ll celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Red Hat Society with a Birthday Bash at sea!  

Join your RHS Sisters for a live event like no other!  Bring a wrapped gift valued at $15 for a gift exchange.  

Use your smartphone to record a video message while on the ship.  When you return to the mainland, upload it to the RHS’s Facebook page.  One lucky cruise goer who uploads their video and tags it with #RHSBirthdayCruise2018 will win a prize!
