Nashville City Driving Tour

Traveling through the streets of Nashville, you’ll get a close-up view of the sites that make this world-class city one of the top visited places in the United States. Nashville hosts the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Parthenon, just to name a few. You will get an insiders look into what makes this unique southern city sing!

12 South Shopping & Sweets

Come and shop until you drop in one of Nashville’s favorite neighborhoods 12 South. Your personal tour guide will give you a driving tour en route to the destination. Upon arrival, you’ll be taken through the neighborhood hitting all the must see shops including, but not limited to: Draper James (women’s clothing by Reese Witherspoon), Peter Nappi (Italian leather goods), Judith Bright (local jewelry designer), White’s Mercantile (modern general store owned by Hank Williams Jr’s daughter), Imogene + Willie (apparel and custom jeans) and more. The Society’s Members who are traveling from countries outside of the US are welcome to join CEO and Queen Lady Bug, Debra Granich and Princess Southern Belle Marketing Director Emily Yost for a special gathering and official photo session. At this event, we’ll spend time getting to know one another and sharing what is happening for the RHS in those countries present. Please bring along something representative of your country for our photo shoot!

Pre-Convention Option: Black Jack 21 Casino Night Riverboat Cruise

What better way to begin our convention than by recognizing our 21st Anniversary with a Black Jack 21 Casino Night?! Join your Sisters aboard the General Jackson Showboat for a casino night. Take in the breathtaking skyline of Nashville from the perspective of the beautiful Cumberland River. While “rollin’ down the river,” you’ll enjoy stunning views, casino games (to win prizes!), and a delicious meal freshly prepared by the Showboat’s chefs. One of the largest showboats ever built, the grand General Jackson is an elegant triumph of American ingenuity. With its elegant lacy filigree and stately design, the boat is reminiscent of the opulence of the American Victorian era.

Transportation to and from the General Jackson Showboat will be provided.

Wild Horse Saloon

Not ready to end your evening or just arriving for the convention and want to join in on the fun? Then join your Sisters at the Wild Horse Saloon! Just steps away (across the street) from where Pre Convention attendees will exit our boat is the Wild Horse Saloon. This three story saloon is filled with Southern food, live-music acts, multiple bars and free nightly dance lessons! Get all the details on this world famous location here!

Opening Ceremony, Breakfast & Record Exchange

Time: 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

Join us for our Opening Ceremony as we welcome all attendees to Hatsville Live! In the past, many have shared that they wanted to participate in an exchange with Sisters but due to limited space, weren’t able to do so. This Record Exchange is open to all in attendance. All attendees are asked to bring one vinyl record (33, 45 or 78—it’s your choice) to exchange wrapped as a gift for someone at your table. As many of you will be seated with friends, we request you keep your record gift a secret! We want to make the gifting moment exciting!

After opening your record gift, we hope you’ll consider joining us in the hospitality suite sometime throughout our weekend together to transform your new record into a beautifully decorated hat! Bring supplies to decorate with. Hatquarters will have glue guns and other limited supplies to assist you with making your new record hat spectacular.

Are you a Member of the RHS under the age of 50? Join fellow Pinkies and the Hatquarters team for a private affair just for you. We’ll spend time getting to know one another. Each Pinkie is asked to use their “Pinkie Power” to shop for a spectacular piece (or set of) Pink Hatter inspired jewelry that costs no more than $10! Bring your jewelry wrapped for exchange. There will be a prize for the most magnificent piece of jewelry found and purchased for $10 or less. Bring your receipt as proof of purchase.

An official Pinkie photo will be taken at the gathering.

LIVE Game Show

You are the star in this Hatsville LIVE game show experience. These fast paced games will place you front and center in some of your favorite game activities. Brush up on your improv skills and be sure to bring along your trading cards. You’ll need them both at this belly laugh inducing time together.

Ambassador Gathering

(By Invitation Only)

The Society is so thankful and appreciative of the women who make up the Official Ambassador Program for The Red Hat Society. From their passion to their dedication, the Society wants to spend some time recognizing all they have done. This gathering will include acknowledgements, a “State of the Ambassador-ship”, and time to share with one another what is happening in their local area.

A Night at the Grand Ole Opry

Join your Sisters for a night of pure country magic! The Grand Ole Opry is the show that made country music famous. The Opry features a dynamic line-up of new stars, superstars, and legends of country music. Unlike a typical concert, the Opry presents eight or more artists on each show, giving the audience a sample of each artist's musical style. Only the Opry... there's nothing quite like it anywhere else!

Entertainment Line Up: Please note that due to the nature of the Opry, a complete artist line-up is not posted until the week of each show and even then may change.

Travel Arrangements: Our host hotel provides ongoing shuttles to the area. Please allow ample time to board the shuttle, as the shuttle is available to all hotel guests and not dedicated to RHS.

Food: RHS will not be providing food for this optional experience. There are food trucks available to the public starting at 5pm in the plaza outside of the venue or you are welcome to enjoy the food concessions inside the venue.

Unlike a traditional shopping experience, The Red Hat Society knows how to turn the Hat District into an activity playground for Hatters! Look forward to plenty of time to dance and play, while enjoying the ultimate shopping experience.

Music City Celebration Luncheon

Music is electric and speaks to the soul—just like The Red Hat Society! Enjoy a live performance at this luncheon by the RHS Glee Club led by Queen DoReMe, Christine Lozinak, followed by a musical performance showcasing some of the biggest hits created in Music City, USA! All attendees are invited to get creatively crafty by transforming a vinyl record into a beautiful RHS inspired hat! We’ll strut our creations in a fashion show during the luncheon and someone in attendance will be crowned Queen of the Round Turntable.

REDuation & Coronation Event

We’ll combine these special events allowing the newly coronated Queens to join Exalted Queen Mother Sue Ellen Cooper, Queen Lady Bug Debra Granich and Esteemed Vice Mother Linda Murphy in the official REDuation Ceremony.

Coronation Info: For a Queen who has never been given her own Coronation Ceremony, it is our distinguished pleasure to honor you in this way. Please make sure you RSVP for the experience.* All newly Coronated Queens who take part in the ceremony will receive a commemorative ribbon and are invited to be a part of the official Coronation photo.

Dress: All things Queenly. Bring your “crown of choice.”

Good Morning Good Bye

Before we all go our separate ways, let’s have one final moment together. Hosted by the GMBC (Good Morning Breakfast Club), Bionic Babe Chapter, and a host of volunteers, this final send-off party gives us an opportunity to reflect on the fun just a few moments longer. This is a BRING event. If you want food or drink you bring it. If you want to exchange cups/mugs you bring one to get one.

Social Butterfly Social

So, what’s a Social Butterfly you ask? They are the Sisters of the RHS who embrace social media! They flutter about the social networks creating lasting bonds with other Social Butterflies.

At this Social, we’ll be taking our Social Butterflies to new heights. Although we crown Queens, we’ll “wing” the newest Social Butterflies. Who will receive this year’s wings? Those attendees who interact in our virtual convention playground through taking part in the virtual activities throughout the weekend.

The social media world is growing by leaps and bounds while bringing Sisters closer together. Our international Conventions are the perfect place to bring our “social butterflies” together for a gathering like none other! If you take part on the RHS website, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, or read our Red Hat Chat blog we invite you to join us! Want to come but not a Social Butterfly as of yet? Don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of Social Butterflies to assist you with your social media education/fun!
