Cactus Cuties

One of the most memorable lunches for our Cactus Cuties/Sun Lakes, AZ was our first lunch after Covid. We were in a private room at a country club in our senior community for our usual 11:30am monthly lunch. About 2:30pm one of the gals shouted “I don’t want to go home! I’ve missed being with all of you!” Naturally, we had all been visiting on the phone during the Covid era, but there’s nothing like face to face and lots of hugs! So, we took a vote and decided to take advantage of “Happy Hour”. After “Happy Hour” we were getting hungry as it was dinner time. I went to the hostess station and told her that we would like to stay for dinner too. As you can imagine, she was delighted. Our waitress just moved us to a new table in the private room, and we had a delicious dinner together! We finally left the restaurant at 8pm because it was closing. It was such a grand day celebrating our love and friendship! We had so much fun that we decided to meet twice a month. First lunch of the month we take turns being the hostess and selecting the theme and restaurant. The second lunch is at a restaurant that allows us to stay and play games. So those who can stay after lunch, play Mexican Train. Our Cactus Cuties chapter will celebrate its 7th anniversary on October 5. We had many lovely and fun-filled experiences, but this one is the first one that came to me as it’s the longest lunch I’ve ever attended!
