Fen Fatales 25th Anniversary Celebration Turns into an Annual Event

Two UK chapters of the Red Hat Society, the Fen Fatales, led by Queen Susan, and the Gadabout Girls, led by Queen Carol, came together on August 6th for a spirited luncheon that was as lively as it was memorable. The annual group luncheon started in 2023 when the Fen Fatales hosted to celebrate RHS’s 25th Anniversary. It was such a success they decided to continue with the tradition now called a Celebration Lunch marking their third year. Each luncheon has between 50 and 60 members attending.
The Fen Fatales of Holbeach, a vibrant chapter of 44 members, and the Gadabout Girls from Wisbech, a close-knit sisterhood of 17, may live just 24 kilometers (15 miles) apart, but when these dynamic women unite, the distance disappears and the fun multiplies. They also invited other supporting chapters from Norfolk and Suffolk, chapters closest to them, making it a gathering of magnitude.
Queen Susan has reigned with style and dedication since 2013, and Queen Carol has proudly worn her crown since 2008. Both are seasoned leaders and passionate Red Hatters, ensuring that their gatherings are filled with warmth, laughter, and tradition.
Their August luncheon wasn’t just another get-together, it was a celebration of friendship, resilience, and the joy that comes from women supporting women. The occasion was truly auspicious, a reminder that Red Hatters know how to turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary one.
