Mrs. Roper Party - A Red Hat Romp Like No Other!

Queen Pam Miller, from the Southern California Queens Council, shared her story of planning this amazing “Mrs. Roper” themed party:

When I stumbled upon a "Mrs. Roper Romp" in my Facebook news feed, I knew right away it would make a fabulous Red Hat event! It was a unique and fun idea that hadn’t been done before, and the best part? It wouldn't be difficult or expensive to pull off those iconic "costumes."

The planning began with some creative brainstorming. I wanted to make sure the party was filled with delightful details, so I started by exploring various Mrs. Roper Facebook groups. These groups were a treasure trove of ideas, especially for photo props. One idea that caught my eye was a Stanley tumbler, but since they were on the pricier side, I decided to go with Stanley coffee cups filled with Hershey kisses as gifts for everyone.

For the photo ops, I found a talented gentleman on the Nextdoor app who crafted a fabulous picture frame and Mr. & Mrs. Roper sticks. And what's a Mrs. Roper party without a bit of glamour? I spotted Mr. Roper with a purple boa in another Facebook group, and I just had to have him! A quick search online led me to the perfect company to purchase him from.

To add a personal touch, I made fans for everyone, featuring a picture of Mrs. Roper on the front and glued their raffle tickets on the back. The planning began in January, and I continued working on ideas and gifts right up until the day before the event.

The highlight of the evening was our fantastic DJ. I first saw him at an event last December, grabbed his card, and knew he'd be the perfect fit for our party. He didn’t disappoint!

In the end, it was an absolute joy putting everything together for all the "Helens" who attended. The laughter, costumes, and camaraderie made it an unforgettable Red Hat event!
