A Patchwork of Sisterhood: A Heartfelt Gift to Our Founder

This week, Hatquarters received a truly special delivery—a handmade quilt crafted for our Founder & Exalted Queen Mother, Sue Ellen Cooper. But this quilt was more than fabric and thread; it was a tapestry woven with gratitude and love.

Enclosed with the quilt was a heartfelt letter from Earleen H., a devoted Hatter from California who joined RHS in 2005. As an adult student with four children, she was advised by her academic therapist to "get more GIRLfriends." That simple advice led her to the Red Hat Society, where she found unwavering support and boundless joy.

Through the years, her Red Hat sisters have stood by her side through triumphs and trials. They were there as she navigated widowhood, the loss of her son to brain cancer, the isolation of quarantine, and a 7.1 earthquake near her Mojave Desert home.

Stories like Earleen’s remind us why the Red Hat Society is more than a club—it is a community, a lifeline, and a celebration of sisterhood. Thousands of lives have been enriched by the connections made through Red Hatting, each woman finding laughter, love, and resilience in her sisters.
