Discovering the Royal Essence: An Insight into Queenette LadyDiRedHat's Journey

Have you ever wondered what the origin of someone’s Royal Name might be? For me, it's Queenette LadyDiRedHat. Why Queenette? Well, because I may be on the short size, but my spirit is regal and mighty.

My roots trace back to the sunny shores of Long Beach, California, USA. It's where I was born, and it's where I've been nurtured, living in the very same childhood home since 1996.

As for my career, I embarked on a journey with GTE/Verizon, where I eventually took an early retirement in 2003. Little did I know that a whimsical twist of fate awaited me.

One day, I reached out to a friend who worked at the Red Hat Society Hatquarters, hinting that I might be open to part-time data entry. That casual conversation led to an unexpected adventure. Lunch meetings turned into resume submissions, and before I knew it, I found myself immersed in the vibrant world of the Red Hat Society, where I spent a delightful 16 years at Hatquarters.

These days, I am thoroughly retired… for now. I find joy in various pursuits. Reading transports me to different realms, while British cozy mysteries on TV whisk me away to quaint villages where puzzles await. And of course, there's Red Hatting, a passion that adds color and camaraderie to my life. Travel used to be a favorite pastime before the era of COVID-19 disrupted our plans. I am a happily single lady.

My chapter journey with the Red Hat Society began on June 10, 2000, when I stumbled upon an article in Romantic Homes magazine. Intrigued, I reached out to Sue Ellen Cooper, the society's founder, seeking membership. Although her chapter was full, she encouraged me to start my own, and thus began my royal adventure with the MS-TEA-Rious Ladies chapter and later the Tea Tramps.

From humble beginnings in Sue's kitchen, where membership records were handwritten on index cards, to the bustling online community we are today, I've witnessed the society's evolution firsthand. The joy of attending my first RHS TEA and the thrill of watching the community grow at the first RHS HOOT are memories etched in my heart forever.

As a Queen of the RHS, my favorite moments revolve around dressing up with friends, indulging in delightful lunches, and hosting enchanting tea parties. It's the simple pleasures that make life truly royal.

In my journey, I've gathered a few pearls of wisdom to live by: "Let go and Let God," "Keep calm and carry on," and my personal favorite, "Anytime is TEA Time."

In today's digital age, I stay connected through email, Facebook, and occasional Zoom calls, cherishing every interaction with fellow Red Hatters near and far.

Among the myriad of memorable experiences, the highlight undoubtedly lies in the three enchanting trips to participate in London's New Year's Parade with the Red Hat Society, along with countless other Funventions across the United States.

When it comes to nurturing positivity within my chapterettes, I rely on a simple mantra: Fun, Friendship, Sisterhood, and Support. And remember, in the world of the Red Hat Society, wearing our vibrant colors is not just reserved for themed events—it's a celebration of life itself.

So, as I continue my royal journey, I invite you to join me in embracing the spirit of joy, camaraderie, and adventure that defines the Red Hat Society. After all, life is too short not to wear a fabulous hat and share a cup of tea with friends. Cheers to the royal life!
