QotM - Andrea Franklin - November 2023

There exists in our Society a remarkable woman named Andrea Franklin, widely known as Queen Mum Pearl Magnolia. She lives a vibrant life as a Red Hat Society Queen and Ambassador, embracing the joy of her role.

Andrea, a resident of both Georgia and California, is not just a mother to three grown sons but also a proud granny to four wonderful grandchildren. Her passion for writing Murder Mystery Skits adds an exciting twist to her life, especially at parties and Red Hatter's Chapter Gatherings.

In 2017, Andrea joined the Red Hat Society, finding solace in a community where she could redefine herself. Tired of being just a mom and a granny, she became Queen Pearl Magnolia, leading her own unique chapter called "The Royal Chapter R3MB of the Land of Precious Gems: Royal, Majestic, Magnificent, Magnolia Bells.”

Within her chapter she has Shenanigans Squads:

1)  Welcome 2 Georgia Squad - who welcome Red Hatters Traveling to Georgia or attending Events here.
2) Transportation Squad - to assist visiting Hatters around Georgia & transport Pickup & Dropoff at airports.
3) Shut-in & Hospital Squad - check on our RHS Sisters.
4) Benevolent Squad - travel to support our RHS Members who have lost a Family Member or a Red Hat Sister who has passed away.
5) The Children's Hour Squad - we go to the local Pre-K & Elementary schools and read story to the Children during Black History Month & Read Across America Week with Dr. Seuss.

Her Royal Chapter R3MB sponsored 2 charities to help purchase Christmas Gifts for participating children.

One amazing day, Andrea embarks on a journey with 25 Red Hat Sisters to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Red Hat Society in New Orleans. Inspired by her desire to create special moments, she initiates the Mass Queens’ Coronation event called One Magical Majestic Moment in Time Tour. This tour takes her to different Medieval Times Castles in Georgia and Texas, where she crowned 40 Red Hat Society Queens. Her next coronation adventure awaits in California on Saturday, November 25, 2023. During the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, Andrea's Shenanigans Squad brought cheer to her chapter members' homes, relieving them of cabin fever. Their camaraderie even won a Red Hat Momma Video Contest, a testament to their bond.

In the midst of her royal duties and supporting her Red Hat Society, Andrea wears her crown proudly in her official state driver's license and state-issued ID photos. To Andrea, being a Red Hatter and Queen Ambassador is a dream come true, and she hopes it will never end. And so, the Queen Mum Pearl Magnolia continues her reign, spreading joy and laughter wherever she goes.
