Queen Diva of Jewels: A Life of Love, Creativity, and Sisterhood
In the Red Hat Society, every Queen carries a story—and Queen Diva of Jewels shines as brightly as her name suggests.
Born in Warren, Ohio, and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Queen Diva’s journey began in the warmth of the Southwest. She graduated from Amphitheater High School in Tucson and went on to receive a scholarship to attend Tucson Beauty College. Yet, as she will tell you with a smile, her greatest education came from life itself. Raising a family while her husband served 20 years in the military shaped her resilience, strength, and grace in ways no classroom ever could.
A Love Story for the Ages
Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Hers began at the mailbox.
One glance at her future husband was all it took. Love at first sight blossomed into a partnership that has now lasted 44 years. That enduring love remains one of her proudest blessings.
Career and Calling
Her very first job at Dunkin’ Donuts might earn the title of “wackiest,” but her most fulfilling role was one she embraced wholeheartedly raising her family. Though some may call it old-fashioned, Queen Diva sees it as her greatest accomplishment. Being proud of and loving the men and women she helped raise is, to her, the ultimate success.
Creativity Without Limits
If you ask about hobbies, prepare yourself—because Queen Diva’s passions are many.
During COVID, she began hosting teleconferences to share her love for the Red Hat Society, connecting with sisters around the world through games, laughter, and shared interests. That connection continues to this day.
She designs and creates many of her own Red Hat outfits—dresses, jewelry, gifts, and of course, hats. While she may purchase a few pieces, most are lovingly handcrafted. In addition, she has created more than 75 Diamond Art portraits, showcasing her artistic dedication and attention to detail.
A Global Sisterhood
Her introduction to the Red Hat Society came through her mother-in-law in Tucson, Arizona. When she later moved to Huntsville, Alabama, knowing no one, she followed that early encouragement and reached out to local Red Hat’s sisters. The experience was so meaningful that she made it a tradition—whenever she travels with her husband, whether for work or vacation, she connects with Red Hat’s sisters wherever she may be.
Her very first Red Hat event took place in Ottawa, Canada. She still remembers the breathtaking sight: a beautiful wall of red hats and so many happy sisters gathered together.
Another unforgettable milestone was her first International Convention in Nashville, Tennessee—1,600 beautiful Red and Pink Hatters creating a stunning “Sea of Red and Lavender.” The memory remains vivid in her heart.
Leading with Positivity
As Queen, her favorite role is simple yet powerful: sharing positivity and love. She encourages her sisters to leave negativity behind and step fully into joy, laughter, and connection.
Her pearls of wisdom reflect a deeply thoughtful spirit:
“The decisions you make are based on your current knowledge, understanding, and experience. When you learn something new, it does not make that decision wrong, it simply requires a new decision. It is a waste of energy to dwell on the past. Focus on the positive and move forward.”
She also reminds us:
“Words have meaning—often more than one. You cannot expect everyone to know them all.”

A Heart Full of Gratitude
When asked what else she would like to share, her response reflects her character. She is honored to be chosen as Queen of the Month and sincerely hopes that all her sisters’ dreams of happiness come true.
