She Changes Everything: A Sisterhood That Changed My Life

There are moments in life when a simple idea becomes something far greater than we ever imagined. For me, that moment came in 2024 when I started the Red Hat Society chapter, She Changes Everything in Snellville, Georgia.

My vision was never just to start another chapter. I wanted to create a place where women could truly belong—a sisterhood where every woman would feel celebrated, appreciated, and empowered to embrace this beautiful season of life. I envisioned a community where laughter echoed through every gathering, friendships flourished, and every Queen knew she had women standing beside her through life’s celebrations and challenges.

As Queen Majestic Opal, I stepped into this journey with excitement, hope, and a heart full of purpose. I knew I wanted our chapter to be different. I wanted every event to be an experience, every gathering to create lasting memories, and every Queen to leave feeling more joyful than when she arrived.

What I didn’t expect was how much this incredible sisterhood would transform me.

Over the past two years, we’ve shared elegant afternoon teas, adventurous road trips, themed celebrations, community service projects, birthday hugs, heartfelt conversations, and countless moments of pure, contagious laughter. We’ve celebrated milestones, encouraged one another through difficult seasons, and reminded each other that growing older is not about slowing down—it’s about living more boldly, loving more deeply, and laughing a little louder.

Each Queen has brought her own sparkle to our chapter. Together, we’ve created something beautiful—a place where differences are celebrated, kindness is abundant, and friendship knows no age.

Today, I have the incredible honor of serving as Queen Mum Ambassador Majestic Opal, a role that represents far more than a title. It is a privilege to encourage women, mentor new Queens, strengthen our chapter, and continue sharing the spirit of the Red Hat Society with others. Every opportunity to welcome a new member or inspire another woman reminds me why this journey began.

The name She Changes Everything has become more than our chapter's identity—it has become our purpose. We strive to make every woman who joins us feel seen, valued, and inspired. Sometimes changing everything doesn't require grand gestures. Sometimes it begins with a warm smile, a listening ear, an invitation to tea, or simply reminding another woman that she matters.

Looking back, I realize that while I believed I was building a chapter, they were building something within me. They surrounded me with extraordinary women who have become cherished friends, trusted confidantes, and sisters by choice. Their encouragement has strengthened my confidence, deepened my joy, and reminded me that leadership is rooted in love and service.

To every Queen who has walked this journey with me, thank you. Thank you for your friendship, your kindness, your unwavering support, and your willingness to dream alongside me. You have enriched my life beyond measure.

As we continue our journey together, my hope is that She Changes Everything will remain a place where women discover joy, create unforgettable memories, and build lifelong friendships. Because when women gather with open hearts, compassion, and a little sparkle beneath their red and pink hats, remarkable things happen.

We don't simply wear beautiful hats.

We wear confidence.

We wear joy.
