Your Summer Look

Happy Summer Dear Red and Pink Hatters:

I pray that you and your loved ones are all healthy and happy and that you are enjoying each day! Summer is finally here and is such a special time - longer days, vacations, beautiful flowers and fresh fruits and vegetables, and a perfect opportunity to get outside and enjoy nature and breathe deep! It is also the perfect time to update and change your winter look to a summer look. Some ideas that you might like to try . . .

• Change your foundation to a lighter formula - a splendid time for a tinted moisturizer or BB Cream. Remember to check the color so that it matches your neck. Often, we get a bit more color in summer, even though we don't try to, so confirm that your foundation is the right color.
• Remember to GLOW!  Throw away all those dry powders and add shimmer and shine to the face to achieve that youthful, effervescent, radiant skin.  Some self-tanning cream over the whole body and GLOW on top is a beautiful summer look for dancing the night away or just watching the stars.
• Make sure you have a new sunscreen with the words Broad Spectrum on it to protect against Ultraviolet A rays (AVA) and Ultraviolet B rays (AVB) and a SPF of at least 15.
• With summer's higher temperatures and drying weather, add a moisture mask to your weekly skin regime as well as a deep cleansing mask to keep your pores clean. Also remember to exfoliate your skin at least once a week and make sure you are moisturizing your lips (I always have my Billy's Blues Vitamin E Balm with me and use it often during the day).

• Nail and lip color should be softer and lighter. Put away all the dark reds and deep colors. A lip liner and gloss are perfect for the summer with a touch of blush and you are ready for the day. • Clean out your closet and opt for cool fabrics in lighter colors. I always do a major cleaning during the summer as I am inspired to give away all of those winter clothes that I know I won't be wearing next winter. Periwinkle is still hot, hot, hot!!!!
• One more hot trend that might be fun for you to try this summer is reverse hair washing. It is very simple and many hair stylists claim that it really works - especially giving volume to fine hair. Use a conditioner first, and then wash your hair with your shampoo. Do not reapply your conditioner and see if you like the result. The idea is that the conditioner won't weigh the hair down, and it seems to be quite the new rage. Let me know what you think!
